Switch to a Different Google Account on the Onn 4K Pro
If you need to sign in with a new or different Google account (for example, to access specific apps or content), follow the steps below. Make sure you follow the order carefully to avoid triggering a factory reset.
CRITICAL WARNING:
DO NOT remove the existing Google account from your Onn 4K Pro unless you plan to immediately add another one.
If the device is left with no Google account, it may automatically reset and erase all apps, settings, and saved data.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Go to the Home Screen
Press the Home button on your remote. - Open Settings
Navigate to the ⚙️ Settings icon in the top-right corner. - Scroll Down and Select “Accounts”
You will see a list of accounts currently signed in on the device. - Add the New Google Account FIRST
Select Add Account and choose Google. Sign in with the new account you want to use. - Confirm the New Account is Added
Make sure it appears under the list of accounts before proceeding. - Now Remove the Old Account
Select the old account and choose Remove Account. Confirm the removal when prompted.
Tips:
- Use a Google account that you own to manage purchases and sync your apps.
- If 2-step verification is enabled, be ready with your backup code or phone.
You’ve now safely switched to a different Google account without risking a factory reset!
